John Stanley has been photographing all things moving and still for as long as he can remember, from fast cars, boats and aeroplanes in flight to furry and feathered animals also ‘in flight’. His creative eye is only limited by his creative imagination (which seems unlimited!) and he sees beauty in almost everything... the most intricate detail on a leaf or flower to the wonder of a full moon or an electrical storm over the harbour, he captures it all in a perfect moment.

When it comes to people, John’s expertise is like no other. The photographs speak for themselves but he has a gift of being able to move amongst a crowd getting the best shots without being intrusive. Many have commented that he becomes ‘invisible’ saying “I didn’t even know you were taking that”. He has an air of calm that can keep even the most anxious bride at their most relaxed, natural and comfortable and that’s what makes his images so special.

As you will see John’s subjects range across the spectrum of life and everything in between. He is as comfortable in the excitement and thrill of a racetrack as he is capturing the beauty of a newborn child, the joy of a bride on her big day or the life story on the face of a 100 year old. He will move around a crowded bustling event unseen or in a church unheard while the vows are spoken, just the click of a camera lens lets you know these moments will be recorded forever.

Like most artists John is a tireless perfectionist. He works with state of the art equipment and is regularly upgrading and refining the tools of his trade, not just with the cameras and lenses but also with the forever evolving computer technology and the knowledge required to get the best results possible.

Take a look at what is merely a fraction of John’s body of work and you will understand why he is The Legend Of The Lens.
